Solar FAQ

Clear answers before you request a quote.

Cayman property owners usually want to understand cost, reliability, maintenance, payback, and batteries before they move forward. Start here, then request a practical review when you are ready.

Will solar eliminate my CUC bill?

Not always. Most grid-connected systems are designed to reduce your bill, not remove it completely. The result depends on system size, energy usage, CUC programme rules, battery setup, and how much power you use during solar production hours.

Do I need a battery?

Not always. Batteries are useful for backup power, self-consumption, and resilience planning. Some customers start with solar alone, while others include storage from day one.

Can panels handle hurricane-season conditions?

Solar systems should be engineered and installed to applicable structural and wind-load requirements. During design, Senergy reviews roof condition, mounting approach, and equipment choices so the system is appropriate for the property.

How long does installation take?

The physical installation is often measured in days, but the full timeline depends on site assessment, design, equipment availability, permitting, inspection, and CUC-related steps.

What solar panel brands does Senergy install?

Senergy works with panel brands including Jinko Solar, Heliene, and Hyundai. The right panel depends on roof space, budget, appearance, availability, and the full system design.

What battery and inverter brands do you work with?

Senergy is a dealer for Sol-Ark, Liniotech, and Briggs & Stratton, and also works with storage and inverter brands such as Pytes, Fronius, and Chilicon Power where they fit the project.

Do you install solar water heating?

Yes. Senergy can discuss solar water heating options, including Rheem systems, for homes with high domestic hot-water or pool-heating demand.

What happens at night?

Solar panels do not produce power at night. Depending on system design, your property may use grid power, battery power, or a combination of both.

Is maintenance complicated?

Solar systems are generally low maintenance, but Cayman's salt air, dust, and storm season make periodic inspection and cleaning worth discussing.

How do CUC programme steps work?

Programme requirements and capacity availability can change. Senergy reviews the current process and explains the relevant steps before final design.
